Franciscan Mystery Players of Clayton, New York

The Franciscan Mystery Players group from St. Mary' Roman Catholic Church in Clayton, NY is a traveling ministry spreading the love and hope of Jesus through "The Birth of Jesus: A Franciscan Christmas" and "The Sorrowful Mysteries." The current group of Players is made up of 18 teenagers ranging from Freshman to Seniors, and 6 adults. We are one of eleven operating groups that make up the Franciscan Mystery Players.

The Group presents the Christmas Mystery Play annually during the Advent season in parishes around the Northern and Central New York area. The group has also been blessed in the opportunity to perform in other areas of the United States and Southern Ontario over the past 14 years.

The Play provides not only a way for the teenagers to bond together in Christ and develop a deeper sense of prayer, but also as a way for them to reach out to their community. "The Sorrowful Mysteries" is a truly moving experience. Based off the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, the living meditation and Prayer Service that accompany is a way for the Players to minister to those who need hope and strength in their lives.
